Companies must take care of their interests and act for the benefit of stakeholders. Getting the status of Benefit Company (SB or Benefit Corporation) allows you to do just that.

The Benefit Company is a legal form of enterprise that distinguish itself from traditional corporate forms because it pursues several purposes: economic objects and public utility purposes. All companies can become benefit companies, except non-profit organizations.

Objects

The profit is accompanied by the purposes of common benefit (e.g. policies in support of employees’ family members, support for social, environmental initiatives, etc.). They shal be indicated in the statutes or articles of association. They can be connected to the production process or have a general character.

Obligations

The Benefit Company is required to fully with three elements: purpose, accountability and transparency. Indeed, they are obligatory to:

  • Indicate the purposes of public utility in the social object;
  • Named for business impact manager;
  • Draft the annual impact report to be attached to the budget.
